Rollone




Rollone is a unique blend of Barbera and Pinot Noir. The first vintage was in 2003 when we decided to blend the wines from our youngest Barbera and Pinot Noir vineyards. Since then, it has been a successful union; the elegance of Pinot Noir and the strength of Barbera. The two wines are vinified separately, then blended and aged together for 6 months in small oak barrels.

  • Alcohol: 13%-14% alc. by volume
  • Suggested Serving Temperature: 18-20 °C/65-68 °F

Ageing Potential:
Drink Rollone young or appreciate it in 4-5 years after the vintage. The bottle should be stored in the dark, at a constant temperature of 15 °C/59 °F, in a horizontal position.

Food Pairing:
A great wine to drink for the duration of the meal. Well suited for starters, chicken, pork, grilled hearty fish and beef dishes.

Tasting notes:

  • Color: Rich ruby red
  • Bouquet: When young, this wine is fresh with red berries and summer fruits. Watermelon and cranberry. Tropical flowers like gardenia and jasmine. Fields of freshly cut green grass. All of these flavors become intense and become more complex with ageing.
  • Palate: Medium-bodied, balanced and dry with a crisp fresh finish. Red currant, dark chocolate and black pepper. Generous on the palate. Persistent. Delicious.
